Here is some heartbreaking news to Windows 7 Engineers and good news to all the folks who are eagerly waiting for a pirated version of Windows 7 OS. Hackers managed to exploit the vulnerabilities of Windows 7 Ultimate and released cracks that by-passes Windows Genuine Advantage check. This means, you don’t need to pay a penny for Windows 7 if you get hold of this crack from the wild.

It’s so pity that the cracks are available 85 days ahead of Windows 7 release to customers! Microsoft Engineers yet again failed to show any resistance against the pirates(generally, we hear of iPhone OS cracks only after few days of software releases, right?).

How Hackers Cracked Windows 7?

The method employed by the hackers to crack Windows 7 is no way mean new. It’s the same good old procedure they followed for cracking Windows Vista. According to softpedia

The bypass designed for Windows 7 RTM involves abusing OEM activation 2.1, and in this regard the circumventing process is nothing more than an OEM hack. Via OEM activation 2.1, namely SLP 2.1, Microsoft allows OEMs to pre-activate Windows 7 for distribution preinstalled on new computers. In this context, the activation bypass process leading to the hacked Windows 7 RTM needs to be based on a BIOS (SLIC) hack first of all

Lenova Win 7 Discs – Source Of Sensitive Info For Hackers

It is reported that hackers got access to the copy of an OEM Windows 7 Ultimate disc from Lenovo. From them they were able to extract: product key and the OEM certificate required for authentication.

Something to blame on Lenova? No way! If not Lenova, it would have been DELL or HP or someone else. It really does not matter who is the source of discs. All the hackers wanted was an OEM disc.

Where Can I Download Windows 7 Crack?

Well it is not legal to post such information over here. So we are not going to post any links here. But you can ask Google Search and it brings all the information instantaneously. As the crack is in initial stages, it looks like a cumbersome process for non-geeks. If you a geek, it is just a matter of couple of minutes.

Windows 7 might be getting all the attention lately, but Windows XP is having a quiet little renaissance of its own — not only have sales of the venerable OS been extended until 2010, Microsoft is selling an ultra-secure version to the Air Force. The custom build ships with over 600 settings bolted down, and a security patch turnaround of just 72 hours compared to the standard edition’s 57 days — all because Steve Ballmer personally stepped in and approved the project at the Air Force’s request. The effort’s to standardize and preconfigure the OS has paid off: 85 percent of previous known exploits have been blocked, support call volume has dropped 40 percent, and the USAF has saved some $100 million in costs. Nice — but don’t get your hopes up, since it doesn’t seem like Microsoft has any intention of selling this version to the public.

Whether or not Windows 7 does launch in October as previously suggested, those who have (or plan to get) Release Candidate will be happy to hear that Microsoft won’t be pulling the plug until June 1, 2010, well over a year from now and 11 months after its initial expiration date. After that, you’re gonna have to fork over the Benjamins for one of the retail SKUs if you wanna keep 7 alive. As for those still living in Redmond’s past, the company’s also extended the life of XP, at least for OEMs. Companies using the older OS will still be able to install it on netbooks for up to one year after 7’s official shape date. Seeing as the new system’s likely to have a more expensive licensing fee, it’s probably the best move if the company plans on keeping that 96% grip on the netbook OS market.

Well hey — it looks like Windows Mobile 6.5 will arrive a little earlier than expected. A post on the WinMo team blog says that the update to Redmond’s smartphone platform will officially launch on May 11, the first day of the Tech Ed conference. We’re figuring that could mean we’ll see the gold build demoed for the very first time, seeing how the version showed off at the glamorous MWC launch was described as an “alpha” cut. Of course, after that it’s all up to the carriers and handset manufacturers as to when we’ll actually see the OS loaded onto devices, but we’re sure the hacking community will find a way to satiate the impatient until then — or until Windows Mobile 7 comes out.

You know, we should have paid a little closer attention to Microsoft’s decision yesterday to extend Windows XP sales to “June 2010 or one year after the general availability of Windows 7″ — if the company was really planning on shipping Windows 7 in 2010, that first date doesn’t make a lot of sense unless the plan is to ship Windows 7 much, much earlier. And hey — what’s Bill Gates doing telling investors this afternoon that Windows 7 will come “in the next year” and that he’s “super-enthused” about it? As far as we know, the official Windows 7 timeline hasn’t changed, so Bill might just talking about beta versions, but something’s clearly up Windows-wise in Redmond — perhaps Vista’s wow is not long for this now.

After a week full of Red Bulls, Fruit by the Foot and dreams of In-N-Out, the mighty Sony VAIO loaded with Linux stood as the only machine unhacked by the end of the PWN 2 OWN hacking contest at CanSecWest.

In this competition there were 3 laptops, with different OS’s offered for being hacked into. These included an Apple Macbook Air running OS X 10.5.2, a Sony Vaio VGN-TZ37CN running Ubuntu 7.10 and a Fujitsu U810 running Vista Ultimate SP1. Anyone who could successfully hack or exploit these machines would win a $10,000 price from famous security company Tipping Point.

the MacBook Air on display was seized in two minutes by the presumably well prepared Charlie Miller, and after two full days of work, Shane Macaulay and a few of his 1337 associates managed to crack the Vista rig on Friday. Reportedly, Shane and his pals weren’t expecting to do battle with the extra protected SP1 version of Vista, and while the exact loophole won’t be divulged, we are told that it was a cross-platform bug that “took advantage of Java to circumvent Vista’s security.” In the end, it was reported that some folks on hand had discovered bugs in the Linux OS, but many of them “didn’t want to put the work into developing the exploit code that would be required to win the contest.”

Some of us now have computers with hard disk space in Terabytes, which implies you probably have a lot of content to store on the computer — like movies, music, images, documents, presentations, and what not. With so much on your hard disk, to be able to track what you want quickly, installing Desktop Search on your computer only makes sense.

If you happen to use the Windows operating system, you’d be familiar with Windows Desktop Search (WDS), the operating system’s indexed desktop search platform. Microsoft yesterday announced the release of an updated “preview version” of Windows Search 4.0, which is the next big thing to happen to the Windows Search platform. This first beta of Windows Search 4.0 is meant to help users find and preview any kind of text, audio, image files, etc, on the computer. Previously called Windows Desktop Search (WDS), Microsoft had initially introduced their version of Desktop Search as MSN Desktop Search, along with the MSN Toolbar suite.

The software giant claims that Windows Search 4.0 is much faster than the search tool included in Windows Vista. This was accomplished, they say, because they have been able to fix most of the bugs that were reported for it while in Vista.

Meanwhile, Windows Search 4.0 is available both as an update to Vista’s built-in search engine, as well as an updated version of the XP add-on. You can download the Windows Search 4.0 (beta) application here, and find details about it here.

If you’ll recall, Microsoft announced that it was teaming up with SanDisk last May to conjure up a suitable U3 replacement. Not quite a year later, we’re starting to hear the first whispers of what that replacement may be. Purportedly dubbed StartKey, the so-called Windows companion would essentially allow users to “carry their Windows and Windows Live settings with them” on any sort of flash memory device — be it a USB drive, SD card, etc. Interestingly, it’s also being reported that Redmond would like to “build an end-to-end StartKey environment,” but aside from the tidbit that it should be out in at least beta form by the year’s end, pretty much everything else remains murky.

While bits and pieces have been blacked out, what remains is still fairly incredible — although Intel’s 915 chipset was initially rejected as incompatible with Vista, MS execs flatly admit that “In the end, we lowered the requirements to help Intel make their quarterly earnings so they could continue to sell motherboards with the 915 graphics embedded” and “We are caving to Intel. We worked the last 18 months to drive the UI experience and we are giving this up.” On top of that, it seems that the company was getting direct feedback from retailers that the stickers were confusing, with Wal-Mart appealing directly to HP to pull Vista Capable stickers from low end machines, and an MS exec saying that “I was in Best Buy listening to people and can tell you this did not come clear to customers. We set ourselves up.” That’s pretty damning, if you ask us — and the complete emails, linked below, are full of similar bombshells. Looks like this case may have some serious legs after all.
